Toners can save you money!

Here is my tip and trick for the day!

Try a toner! If you are not already a user of toner check out my reasons why you should be.  If that is not enough here is one more reason;

Applying a toner to your face softens and moistens your skin preparing it for your serum and moisturizer.  While your skin is still damp from your toner apply half the amount of your serum or cream that you normally would use.  It is asorbed better and will easily spread across your face and neck.

Just think! Your expensive products will now last you twice as long 🙂

Remember, toners are one of the least expensive skin care products so try out a toner and see how much money you can save!

Happy Thursday 😉

Quick tip for all the Blondes!

Hi there all you blonde’s! I wanted to let you know a quick tip on how to keep your gorgeous colour.  I sometimes notice that my blonde looses its ‘brilliance’ in-between my trips to the stylist.  One day I happened to run by a girl that had great hair!  She had that perfect cool blonde colour.  I asked her how she did it and she recommended this product; SBS-550150You can find this Blonde Brilliance Lathering toner at any Sally’s Beauty Supply or online here.  You use it once or twice a week and it helps keep that brassy tone out of your hair! Just a warning; use it to much and it will turn your hair purple! But don’t worry, it washes out 😉  I love this because it helps my hair look fresh and updated even when I really need to get to my stylist.  They have all sorts of products so if you are not into the cool tones than no worries, they have something for you too.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Thanks!

Tip of the day- Facial Massage!

Has anyone out there gotten a facial? Sadly I have not.  Not because I don’t want one, but just because I have never felt like I had the disposable cash to spend on someone massaging my face.  However, after working in the skin care world I have realized how important facials (facial massages) are.

Sticking with the theme of not being able to afford an actual facial I thought I would give you a little help on how to give your self an ‘At home facial’.  In my skin care journey I have come across a lot of fabulous people on youtube, instagram and blogs just like this!  One of these amazing people is Lisa Eldridge.  Lisa is a fabulous and famous makeup artist!  I have watched a ton of her videos and they are all so helpful and informative.  Lisa recommends facial massage as an important part of your skin care routine (apparently her Mother has been doing if for years and she looks fab!).  Luckily Lisa created a video explaining how to do a full facial massage for your self right at home!

If you have been following our blog you would have seen a product I wrote about on Monday (its a balm-to-oil cleanser) and it works beautifully for these at home massages. I have also used coconut oil and it works well. Lisa explains the importance of the massages in her video but I did want to add that she is right! These facial massages do make a difference in the over all appearance of your skin and over time can keep years off your face! I have added the video below so everyone can try this out for them selves at home!

Let me know what you think and if you have any good tips for facial massages!

Love you all!

Black and Navy. A Combo WORTH Keeping!

Happy Tips n’ Tricks Thursday! One day closer to the weekend. 🙂

One of my favorite combos, fashion wise, is black and navy. I think that it can look so sleek and chic paired together. I remember years ago people talking about the pairing and referring to it as a “bruise”. Well guess what people, that rule is old, antiquated and worth breaking! Now the look is totally appropriate and so versatile. You can wear the pairing to work, on a date, or for a casual day over the weekend.

Here are a few tips to think about when pairing black and navy.

1) Be confident: Remember that black and blue are neutrals and can be worn together. To start try pairing black pants with a navy blue top.

2) Layer: Often times when the color is so similar layering can help break up the outfit and show that you are very intentional about wearing the color combo. A great idea is a navy dress with a black blazer. Or black pants, a black top, and navy blazer on top.

3)Don’t be afraid: Throw in other neutral colors such as grey, brown, white, or cream.

4) Mix it up: When you get really adventurous with combining black and blue start mixing patterns, textures, and a pop of color. i.e. leather and denim, silk and wool. I love a pop of color being my nails, shoes, or my purse.

Ok, that’s it! Easy right? Enjoy the color combo and send us your favorite looks to couragedearheartinfo@gmail.com
